A Day in the Clinical Life of a Traditional Acupuncture Practitioner

G’Day Y’all,

In clinic yesterday I saw an extremely diverse range of patients.
I think the happiest was our IVF patient, after trying for several months she arrived in clinic yesterday to happily announce that she was indeed, pregnant. I was so pleased for her, she has been suitably rewarded for maintaining her positivity and a sincere commitment to a treatment regime that included frequent traditional acupuncture and moxibustion treatment.

Also singing the praises of traditional acupuncture was a talented teenage representative 800 m and 1500 m runner.
She had come into clinic last week feeling flatter than the Nullabor ( massive expanse of dead flat desert in the middle of Australia), almost depressed.
As she was leaving the clinic after treatment I had suggested that she just turn the wheel over at training and not extend herself too much.
With a wry smile on her face she explained yesterday, how effortlessly she had run personal best times at training immediately after her traditional acupuncture treatment. She was almost apologetic, as both of us wore face breaking grins.

Then there was the 65-year-old motorcycling enthusiast who has had both knees reconstructed, always prodigiously grateful for the pain relief that traditional acupuncture and moxibustion treatment provides him.

Also the fuel tanker driver with debilitating lower back pain , so gratuitous in his praise of the efficacy of traditional acupuncture and the immediate relief from severe pain and improvement in flexibility as a direct result of his treatment.

It would be remiss of me not to mention the elite athlete who turned up in clinic last Saturday feeling absolutely wasted(exhausted), suffering from an extremely sore throat,on the one side only, a body heavy with fatigue and training induced lethargy.
Her plaintiff cry requesting that I recharge her battery was followed by the judicious application of traditional acupuncture and tonetskyu or rice grain moxibustion resulting in the resolution of all symptoms within 24hrs.

It was a much happier and re energized athlete who turned up for treatment yesterday, ready for her first competitive run since the world championships in Osaka, Japan a little while ago.

May I also mention the patient who was experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions and severe bleeding five weeks premature to the expected birth date of her 2nd baby.
Tonification of the kidney meridian and importantly, in such an energetically delicate situation, the judicious application of rice grain moxibustion in conjunction with extremely gentle, tonifying traditional acupuncture saw her precarious situation improve overnight and resolve within 36 hours.

There is more, much more.

This extra-ordinarily diverse, powerful and incomprehensibly ancient medical art is certainly capable of delivering the goods in clinic in a user friendly manner.

Children as young as three weeks, needle shy individuals, frail folk, pregnant women even dying patients can be treated absolutely painlessly!

It is a beautiful sunny day on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
I hope I have been able to convey some of that sunshine and much of the enjoyment and satisfaction available for a practitioner of traditional acupuncture.
I hope you have a good time for a long time,
Alan
