Judging by feedback the Japanese Acupuncture workshop held in Prague last weekend was a roaring success.
To this end much of the credit must be given to my interpreter and event organiser Renata Sotova.
Her commitment and persistence knows few limitations, overcoming many obstacles prior to and during the workshop.
Not the least being that our allocated room at the University was well and truly occupied when she arrived on Friday morning, amidst much confusion, Renata’s steadfast determination meant that all was sorted when I eventually arrived.
Over the next 3 days participants at this ground breaking workshop, including representatives from Portugal, India, Ireland and of
course the Czech Republic including many doctors astounded me with their openness, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
I was and remain very moved by their wonderful reception and can only thank them from my heart for making this one of the most
unforgettable and enjoyable workshops that I have presented.
Without exception, all participants embraced the challenging skills of Japanese Acupuncture/Meridian Therapy with gusto, the extremely subtle and gentle needling skills being a far cry from the TCM style that had been their exclusive domain up until this workshop.
This afternoon I have been invited to deliver a short presentation at Jiri’s inaugural elective TCM class for medical students at The Charles University, a surprise invitation no doubt but a very welcome opportunity to promote the diversity and power of Japanese Acupuncture/Meridian Therapy to those who could use it to great advantage.
Huge thanks for Jiri’s wonderfully refreshing and open attitude.
I also spent the day in Renata’s clinic on Tuesday treating some 14 of her patients, a great pleasure indeed!
I have recorded interviews with Johnathan, one of my original students from last century who has been practising Japanese Acupuncture/Meridian Therapy in Goa, India, Scandinavia and now Portugal over the last decade, Francisco an erstwhile and very well qualified Portuguese student of Johnathan’s who also made the trek to Prague to learn more and Jiri, an obstetrician, gynaecologist and TCM practitioner who provides us with some extremely pertinent insights into the state of acupuncture in the Czech Republic.
We will be publishing these video taped interviews on http://www.worldacupuncture.com, providing some interesting perceptions on the state of world acupuncture.

This email message almost brought tears to my eyes, yet another
reason why I love practising Japanese Acupuncture /Meridian Therapy.
“Hi Alan,
just received an overjoyed note from the grandmother of little Michael with a cerebral palsy that you treated on Tuesday. Hugely
positive reaction, looks very happy, can’t stop smiling, started drinking a lot, started opening his hands etc.
Thank you! It’s a pleasure to see it.
Renata “
